About Our Classes & Workshops
The Savvy Crafter Workshop provides in-person elective classes for children in sewing, baking/cooking, and creative arts. All classes are project-based and structured to build practical skills, confidence, and fine motor development. These workshops are available as weekend sessions and can also be scheduled on weekdays for homeschool.
We offer creative, hands-on workshops in sewing and baking—perfect for enriching your homeschool curriculum with practical skills and lots of fun!
Beginner and Intermediate Sewing
This series begins with teaching children the fundamentals of sewing through simple, confidence-building projects. Students learn how to safely use a sewing machine, understand basic sewing tools, and follow step-by-step instructions to complete a beginner-friendly project. As their skills grow, returning students progress to more challenging techniques and individualized projects.
Ages: 8–12
Duration: Each session is 2 hours
Location: The Savvy Crafter Workshop (Tallahassee, FL)
Tuition: $40 per student (all materials included) each session
Baking & Cooking Classes
Our baking and cooking classes teach students how to prepare a variety of recipes from scratch while building confidence in the kitchen. Children learn essential skills such as measuring, mixing, kneading, and understanding the science of baking and cooking. Depending on the session, students may bake vanilla or chocolate cakes, sugar cookies, artisan bread, or other kid-friendly dishes. We also explore cake decorating, including piping techniques and the differences between buttercreams. Each class focuses on hands-on practice, clear steps, and creating something delicious the students can be proud of.

Creative Arts, Crafts & Felt Workshops
Our creative arts and felt workshops are designed especially for younger children, beginning as early as age six. These hands-on classes introduce students to crafting skills through fun, age-appropriate projects using felt, fabric, paper, and other kid-friendly materials. Children learn beginner hand-sewing techniques, simple stitches, and how to assemble small creative projects with guidance and support. Depending on the session, students may create plushies, ornaments, mini art projects, or seasonal crafts. Each class focuses on building fine motor skills, confidence, and creativity through playful, project-based learning.
